Founded on April 18th,2004, UPA China is a local usability non-profit organization, playing a central role in China. It provides a specialist organization for all those working in the area of product analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation for more usable products.

Usability is a part of user experience. In China, the concept of usability is still in the process of forming. Usability professionals come from various of backgrounds, and for this reason, we have many different names for this concept.
People that come from Computer Science call it Human-Computer Interaction;
People that have the background of Ergonomics call it Human Factors;
Others in branding or marketing call it Experience Design;
User Interface Designers call it Usability.
We, UPA China, call that Usability, and identify the process of designing usability as User-centered Design.

Based on the great success of the last 2 conferences, UPA China has achieved a very good reputation in both China and the international Usability world and got the recognition from companies like eBay, HP, Yahoo,etc. We hope that we can organize most of the Chinese usability professionals together to support and promote the popularization of the usability technologies in China, to develop the China UPA as the most popular and most authoritative usability organization, and then to lead the development of the usability industry in China and finally to make the China UPA one of the most representative IT organizations in the 21st century in China.
To realize the above goal, we, consequently, have to do the following things for the Chinese Usability Industry.

• Try our best to design products with the most usability for the Chinese Usability Industry;
  
• Bring the latest usability news. technologies and products to all the usability professionals and students in China;
  
• Advocate and promote communication between people that use products, people that implement them and people that investigate usability issues;
  
• Set the usability design standards for the Chinese Usability Industry by referring to the foreign usability standards and also investigating the real status of usability in China.
  
• Encourage, support and organize events, conference and research in the area of usability;
