Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced software User Interface Design Engineer with technical writing, usability as well as user interface skills to join our local software development team, and work along side the software developers to design and document UI features.

1. In this position, the occupant will work closely with local software development team; handle the daily job mainly through clarifying software features, demonstrating and presenting features to software engineers as well as specifying use cases and features in the User Interface Specification documents.

 

Key responsibilities are:

- To carry out given software UI design tasks in line with established Nokia processes.
- To create software UI design concepts with the help of usage narratives, UI diagrams and display examples and/or simulations.
- To create UI feature specifications according to the requirements, applying Nokia UI styles and UI components.
- To be responsible for organizing and/or participating in peer-reviews, and to ensure the highest quality of work according to Nokia standards.
- To be responsible for initiating usability evaluation studies.
- To be responsible for the maintenance of the existing UI specifications.

Requirements:

1. Candidates having university education background with bachelor or master degree. Study areas focusing on usability, human interface, psychology or communications are considered as a plus.

2.  Basic understanding about the software development cycle 3.  Good command of English in both oral communication and writing. Presentation skills are considered to be essential proven relevant experiences are preferred.

3.  Knowledge on the usability methodology, passion to invent new things, demonstrated end user understanding and inventions in the past are considered as an advantage 5.  Familiarized with mobile phone features, popular retail mobile applications, as well as the operator added value services.

Job Description:

The usability specialistis ?responsible for ensuring optimal usability of Chinese specific applications for S60 smartphone platform and cooperated for global usability activities. Position holders are expected to utilize a variety of usability tools and methods,? provide constructive solutions for UI design improvements, and collaborate closely with other professionals including UI design, graphic design, and software development etc.

Key responsibilities are:

1. To conduct usability studies (lab observation, interview, and focus group etc) according to program schedule, and draft/share usability studey reports with stakeholders.?
2. To review UI design from usbaility point of view and provide constructive solutions.
3. To conduct competitive product analysis from usability perspective.
4. To contribute to the methodology and process development of usability study.
5. To coordinate the sourcing activities with research partners (either internal or external)

 

Requirements:

1. Master degree in HCI, Usability Engineering, Graphic Design, Cognitive Psychology or related field.
2. Knowledge in effective data collection and analysis methods (both quantitative and qualitative) is required.
3. Being acute to UI details with strong technical and analytical skills is expected.
4. Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary.
5. Project management skill is a plus.
