User research in a mobile environment requires diverse approaches depending on different aspects of the research. At the same time, those different approaches should be integrated in a single large system under which each approach works together by complementing each other’s strengths. The presentation introduces and demonstrates the integrated deign system for user research in mobile environment which HCIDL (Human-Centered Interaction Design Lab) at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology developed: four tools for integrated coverage of three stages of product development life cycle and to satisfy the requirements of new methods for the mobile environment. Those tools include: MOA (Mobile Observation Analyzer), Wi-Pro (Wish Prototyper), RUTIA (Remote Usability Testing for Information Appliances), and IMOLO (Interactive Mobile Logger).
