Description:
This presentation is a case study of how a software organization, after losing customers and suffering declining market share for a flagship product, decided that user-centered design and usability was the way to regain lost ground. The organization invested considerable resources in building an in-house UCD team and changed processes to incorporate UCD throughout design and development, all while rearchitecting an aging code base. The redesigned version of the product with considerable UCD work went to market in June of 2007, winning praise from industry and business publications. Most importantly, customers responded positively as well. This presentation describes the struggles and successes along the way.
