From the interface choices we make to the methods we use, globalization changes how we as user researchers look at the world.  User research in a global world means thinking about users outside of our everyday experience - the Web means that an organization's presence is global whether that's interesting or not.  User research is both a contributor to and a user of the technologies that enable globalization.  These technologies give us new ways to conduct research and but also new capabilities that we have not had before.  This presentation will discuss evolving methods for conducting user research in a global world from how to organize complex global studies to promising new tools and methods to new ways of organizing our thinking about interfaces, users, and organizations.
