Linn Johnk has been with
HP since 1985. He originally joined HP as a technical writer. He
became a founding member of the HP-Cupertino Human Factors team in
1988, and then was granted an HP fellowship in 1992 at New Mexico
State University to pursue M.A. level course work in Engineering
Psychology (completed in 1993). Linn also has an M.A. and Ph.D. with
a concentration in Germanic Linguistics, a B.A. degree with a double
major in German and Russian, and a second B.A. with a major in
Computer Science.
Linn managed the Customer Experience Design team from 1999 until the
HP-Compaq merger in 2002. At that time Linn undertook the creation
and leadership of a cross-company community of Customer Centered
Design (CCD) practitioners at HP. He has recently played a key role
in the creation and fostering of regional CCD centers of excellence,
including in Shanghai.
