One of the simplest and most powerful strategies for making a system more usable is to make information easier to find. Organising and labeling information so that users can find what they want (and discover what they don’t know) is at the heart of information architecture.
Card sorting is the most popular information architecture method. Like user testing, its purpose is to get feedback from users early on in order to improve design. And like user testing, it’s a simple yet highly effective technique.
This workshop will allow you to learn how to plan, run and analyse the results from a card sort. We will cover when and why you need to run a card sort, how to pick cards, who to test, tools to use, analysis tips and tricks and how to use the results. Information presented will be very practical and we will plan, run and analyse a card sort during the workshop.
