The Four Pleasures: User-Centered Design For Market Success

  Chairman   Patrick W. Jordan
  Time   2007-11-25 8:30am - 12:30pm

This workshop is about designing products that appeal to people on both a rational and emotional level.
We will look at how to understand the needs and wishes of consumers and at how to create products that are useful, usable and a pleasure to own and use.
Participants in the workshop will learn methods and techniques for understanding people and for creating products that meet consumers’ needs and wishes.
They will also learn the theoretical frameworks that form the basis for usability and emotional design.
The workshop will consist of both presentations and exercises which will give a practical introduction to using some of the methods and techniques discussed.
The workshop is suitable for anyone involved in usability, design, marketing or any other aspect of the product creation process.
The material presented in the workshop includes the most up to date and advanced user-centered design techniques and theories. However, these theories and techniques are easy to apply and understand.
Because of this, the workshop is suitable for participants of all levels of experience.
