Having got the doctor's degree in the Dept. of Physical Chemistry in the University of Leeds University in UK, Changgen Feng came back to China and started teaching in 1983. He was the Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology from 1999 to 2001. In 2001, he was appointed member of the CPC Group and secretary of the 6th Secretariat of China Association for Science and Technology. In May, 2006, he was appointed the Secretary of the 7th Secretariat of CAST. Changgen Feng was a Standing Committee member of 4th Session and Vice Chairman of 5th Session of CAST, Vice Chairman of 4th and 5th Session of Beijing Association of Science and Technology, and member of CPC Bejing Committee.
