Douglas Wang is a Product Design Manager at Autodesk's China Application Development Center (CADC) in Shanghai where he manages a team of product interface designers of multiple products. This design team is composed of design talents from different cultures and regions. They have been collaborating with European and North American peers in designing some of the world-renowned 2D/3D applications, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, 3DSMax, Map 3D, etc. Douglas has helped to build this a local design team and takes responsibilities in training and establishing the UCD practice for CADC. Moreover, Douglas is involved in the next generation cross platform projects.
Prior to Autodesk, Douglas spent about 9 years serving international companies in Toronto, Montreal and Nanjing. He had been involved in multimedia, interface design, user experience design and research for desktop, browser-based and mobile apps. Douglas focused on design as a strategic solution to leverage value for business and targeted users via a pleasant user experience. This vision empowered him to succeed in many international projects.
Douglas holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Beijing Institute of Technology and a Master of Architecture (Design & technology) from Carleton University, Canada. He is a member of Registered Graphic Designer Association (Ontario, Canada), UPA (Usability Professional Association), and a founder of Digital Architecture Committee of World Association of Chinese Architects.
