Gordon Bruce has been a design consultant for 34 years working with many international corporations in Europe, Asia and the US. He is principal of Gordon Bruce Design LLC. He has worked with numerous multinational corporations – like IBM – and worked on many different kinds and scales of products – from airplanes to computers and medical equipment. He was also a former VP for Art Center's Kyoto program and Chairman of Product Design for the "Innovative Design Lab of Samsung", IDS, in Seoul, Korea, from 1995 to 1999.
He is a visiting professor in the US and China. Presently he is working mainly in China with Lenovo’s “Innovative Design Center” (IDC) in Beijing and Changhong – as their Honorary Chairman of Design - and OSIM in Singapore. His book on Eliot Noyes, who created the fundamental principles for the design programs at IBM, Westinghouse, Mobil and Cummins, was recently published by Phaidon Press, London 2007.
