Sushmita leads business development and thought leadership for the User Experience Capability at Accenture India.
She brings to the table more than 7 years of experience in usability consulting. She has helped institutionalize usability in numerous large multi-national companies. Her key competencies are in developing and empowering usability teams, multi-location usability testing, cross-cultural studies and design management for dispersed usability teams.
Through her work she has been exploring modern design process in the context of India and other developing societies where products evolve with each generation of users but are rarely designed.
In her role at Accenture, Sushmita has been working to stretch usability practices, and widen their services. This approach has proved valuable to her clients.
She regularly collaborates with practitioners across geographies to publish point of view articles. "Enabling International Usability Using Multicultural and Geographically Disperse Teams" (Elisa del Galdo, Sushmita Munshi, Christine Truc-Modica) and "Emotion in a Ticket" (Apala Lahiri Chavan, Sushmita Munshi) have been well received in the past.
Sushmita is an alumnus of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India and is active within local design guilds and communities in India. She lives in Mumbai India. Her home is open to friends at UPA who want to taste a slice of ‘Bollywood’.
